Screen shot how to?

How do make a screen shot then turn it into I guess a Jpeg file so I could email it out to show someone a freeze frame of what is I am working on? I guess what I am talking about would look like I took a picture of my computer screen with a digital camera and emailed the image to someone.
 
If you use a Pc, on your keyboard there should have a button caled Print Screen. It'e the one beside F12.
 
Cmd (clover leaf key) + shift + 4 on Mac.
Select area with mouse to capture.

But if you just want the image from FCP go to File -> Export -> QuickTime Conversion -> Format: Still Image -> options button -> jpg
