Screen Capture question!

I was just wondering how people are able to display pics of their color correction plug ins and such? I know how to get a snapshot of the preview but not of my actual plugin chains so I can share the visuals if I wanted to.

they probably push the "print screen" button on their keyboard, then open photoshop and paste it into a blank document and save it as a jpg.

It's CTRL+ALT+Print Screen.
So are you saying that you have to actually print it and then scan it into the comp? Or just start the printing mode and maybe copy that info into a photo software? Sorry to keep bugging...

No. You select the window you want, then press CTRL+ALT+Print Screen. An image of the window is saved to the Windows clip board. Paste as you would anything else.

nopes it doesnt work on my laptop. Ive had to use a screen recorder. Can you please explain if this works in XP home ? Can you save a webpage whcih is being viewed as a jpeg format ?? Im unable to do this. Can you tell me what might be wrong ? Thanks.

On a laptop, you may need to use a "fn" key and press Print Screen using it.

It's a standard Windows keyboard shortcut which has worked for quite a few versions of Windows. Definitely works with XP Home.

after i press that combination,,,nothing happens ! where does one find the windows clipboard. I mean is it a virtual clip board where u just paste by CTRL V or are the images stored someplace on the Harddisk ? I thot a window will open up asking hat format of image to save to etc ....can you help me find my image ? If its been saved. Ima actually trying to save this firum page as an image...doesnt seem to work ???

The clipboard is just memory. After copying to the clipboard (if an image from ALT-PrtScn or the like), just open a pint program (PaintBrush, Photo or PrintShop, etc) and Paste it. (Usually in the Edit menu -> "Paste")
