scratch disk won't open for project help?

I have a small promo that I cut and used my imac hardrive as the capture scratch. Now that I want to open it after working on another project with another drive it wants me to reset my capture scratch of course but when I try to it says "Unable to set scratch disk. The selected directory is on write protected or non writeable media."

What should I do to get into those project files?

Try finding the Quicktime movies inside your Capture Scratch folder,
can you open them in Quicktime player?

Try running /Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility, select the internal
disk for your iMac, and choose Repair Disk Permissions.
You may want to do that twice. Does that help?
