Scratch Disc

My Sony Vaio box came configured with a drive preformatted to a C & D drive. The C drive is relatively small, 15 gig's and the D drive is approx. 60 gig's. I use a Lacie 160 gig firewire external as my video drive for capture, and storage of projects when I have a choice.

My problem is that my C drive keeps filling up. I'll finish a project and not have enough room to burn it without going in and looking for files to delete. Now I'm at the point of having to delete other programs to make enough room to burn a project. I an new to Premiere Pro and have struggled with it; I recently purchased the Premiere Elements version and have now been able to complete multiple projects- with this new confidence will return to my Pro version sometime in the future.

I know there must be a way to direct the scratch disc to my D drive. Maybe I'm missing something more basic here. Thanks for any suggestions.

Re: Scratch Disc

There is definitely a way to allocate the default scratch disk & folders you want to use. You can also allocate capture & project directories as well as in PremPro (not sure about Elements). Check Preferences and also take a look at how it is set up in the capture Window.

Seems like you have a Single disk partitioned to C & D and PremPro would not like that at all ( again not sure about Elements but assume the same rules apply there).
