Scopes

I may be doing something wrong, but I have not been able to preview my production and have a realtime view of the scopes. If I gang the monitors I can see what is currently in the preview monitor on the scopes with no problem. When I playback, the scopes stay at the same position, (if I stop the preview the scopes moves to the current position)

Is there a way to see the scopes in realtime as the production plays in the preview window?
???

I have been able to see the scopes in realtime by hitting the "enter" button after rendering, although the production didn't show in the preview window, but on my larger TV screen, which was great, but no sound could be heard.

Re: Scopes

When scopes are displayed they require major CPU and ram to run in realtime.. and if you have added effects or haven't rendered them yet... forget it...

What is the speed of your PC? I run a 3ghz HT rig with 1gb ram and still no realtime... "choppy realtime" at best.

Re: Scopes

I too have a 3gh Dell and 1g ram. Everything else works fine, just no realtime with scopes.

Re: Scopes

The new version of premiere seem to rely a lot on CPU which is good but too bad we've been stuck at around the 3ghz range for almost 2 years now!!... Back in the day when the app cam out, CPU speeds seemed like they were doubling every year or 2.  I was hoping to be cutting like a mad man, realtime scopes and all, on my 5ghz machine buy now...

By then all the OS will be 64bit and a new beast will be born and we'll all be waiting for PPro 3.0 64bit.  The circle of life continues...

Re: Scopes

Try a scope in the Program window and then play the clip from the timeline. Works in realtime for me that way only. Does not work well in Source to Program even if ganged.

Scopes work fine in Color correction modes.

BTW I run a MAtrox RTX 100 Xtreme Pro card - that may make a difference also.
