Scooter Mount

Hi,

I have a Yamaha Vino 125 scooter and I'd like to either buy or build a mount that would allow the HVX200 to sit in front of it, shooting the people riding it. Here's a link to the bike:

Is there somewhere that either sells a mount like this or had plans available to build one? I'm not the most technical guy so I wouldn't feel right coming up with a rig on my own...

Thanks,

Hi:

That thing really does not have much in the way of surfaces to mount a suction cup/car mount system. I would seriously hire a grip who specializes in this sort of setup to rig it. Your rider, I am assuming, will actually be riding the scooter, it won't be towed on a Shotmaker? That means safety and the scooters ability to steer and the rider's visibility will be issues.

You need a pro to rig this safely IMO. If you do this half-assed, you may be endangering the riders life.

Best,

Dan

You might try something like this

Basically mafer clamp with a ball head attached. I have clamped my DVX my mountain bike handlebars with a similar setup. Once you get the mafer clamped down it is fairly solid, but could definately benefit from another stabilization point. That might be tricky with the limited selection of surfaces available. It's cheap and flexible :)

I have been wanting to try this on a motorcycle but I have heard conflicting reports of the vibrations being destructive to the tape transport.

I just shot great stuff off the handle bars of a bicycle this past weekend with a CineSaddle. Worked great! The included mounting hardware is super.
