Scissor Sisters Invisible Light (NSFW)

My roommate, who is a director/editor, just showed me this video and it blew me away. It was retro, creative, strange, erotic, and thought provoking. It has little oddities sprinkled throughout and makes you just really think. It's super strange but it really moved me. Art video at it's best. Not sure everyone, or anyone, will agree with me, but it feels like unfiltered life on drugs.

Whomever thought this up, put lots of deliberate and purposeful thought into what seems weird and random at first... and perhaps a while after. Love the attention paid to thinking this up. Or at least the really bad acid trip one had to endure.

Well its good to see a MV where everything is deliberate and clearly theyve scripted every second prior to shooting it.

There was some amount of Christian imagery... But I think there's also a number of D. H. Lawrence references as well...

Good to see someone out there is still turning in, dropping on, and tuning out... or something like that...

But for some reason there was no sound...

Gotta hit turn the mute off on the video player. For some reason it's default is on mute. Glad I found it too, because without the music the video just seems even stranger than it already is. Some great stuff in there though, really enjoyed it.

Totally. If I didn't know better, I'd believed it if someone told me it was a remix of a song off of "The Wall". Great song and a wonderful video to shake up things. I've not replayed a video over and over for some time.

+1 That was amazing.

Nice to see a actual piece of deliberately conceived and masterfully created art in a genre famous for the opposite.

Something I never would have found. Thanks for sharing.

Reminds me of my college film club days in the mid-'70s, when my friends and I would sit around for hours after screening the latest totally abstract experimental films and try to discern their allegory and deep meanings. The subtlety of our conclusions, and the fervor with which they were defended, were usually proportional to the amount of beer and cannabis that had been consumed in the room. :)

One thing I kind of like about this video is that it's really rather spare and traditional in its use of image manipulation and postproduction effects and transitions -- it's mostly real live shots (albeit of weirdly juxtaposed scenes) and straight cuts. Sort of an "Un Chien Andalou" kind of aesthetic going on there. (Now, here I am, analyzing it again ...)

This work explores the relationship between emerging sexualities and multimedia experiences.

With influences as diverse as Wittgenstein and Buckminster Fuller, new tensions are manufactured from both opaque and transparent layers.

Ever since I was a child I have been fascinated by the ephemeral nature of the mind. What starts out as vision soon becomes finessed into a tragedy of greed, leaving only a sense of undefined and the chance of a new undefined.

As undefined replicas become frozen through diligent and critical practice, the viewer is left with an impression of the corners of our future.

But seriously, this was really cool! Loved the music and the video. I often hate music videos (especially when an art director just forces their pre-fab style on whatever band they happen to be working with), but this one was a cut above.

ha ha, yeah that's great! Arty bollocks rules though. It's like pixel-peeping, not really necessary but good nerdy fun which 99.99% of people could give a rat's ass about
