I start school today! Sophmore year!...the work is gonna kill meee!! ahh!!

We have a 2 hour delay today because of the new coming freshman...it happens every year...i like to think of it as a privlage because we are older. lol

I'm leaving for school in about 45 minutes..its 8:10 am over here rite now.

I'm gonna die this year..i have a business law class that i heard is like impossible to get an A in...and i was told the work is harder every year of school.

I'm screwed..

Exactly. Wait 'til you get strapped with a mortgage and back taxes, then tell me how tough your 50 minute business law class is. ;)

Yeah, I mean, when you're in school, it's not considered "creepy" or "illegal" to wait in the parking lot and pick up high school girls. Next thing you know you're on house arrest and your wife's like, "you shamed our family..." man she is always on me about something... This ankle thingy itches.

LOL! Funny as hell!

Oh, speaking of high school girls - my daughter has a new friend, and I like her, too!

Bros . . .

In ten years, you're going to wish you had it so easy as you do now.
Well, I don't know... I think kids have it pretty rough these days. I think our society is pretty successful at destroying the innocence of childhood and adolescence. Sure, they don't have to worry about mortgages and taxes, but judging from what my kids have to go through (I have a 20-year old in university and a 16-year in Grade 11), I don't see it as easy at all.

The schools are big and impersonal, the teachers (not all but most of them) indifferent and/or incompetent, the curriculum - don't get me started on that, and most parents are too busy to notice when kids get into hard times.

I wouldn't want to be a high school kid today. Not that I want to be a midlife father, either... But still I have plenty of choices that the kids don't have.

Look at it this way; all that indifference and apathy kids are faced with today is good training for their future years of working in the grind of the Corporate World. These are the formative years for all middle management!

OMG!! today...madd crazzy!!

I get to school...i found out they renumbered every single room...so im like getting lost..and they recently built a new addition...thats why they renumbered them...so im like scampering around to find my classes like a mad man.
Homeroom...finally found the classroom...then my teacher gives me a locker on the total opposite side of the school of all my classes...im gonna steal a locker tomorrow closer to my classes...
Everything went pretty smoooth...there were some hot girls in my classes..which i do plan on getting to know this year...muuahhahaha...some of the freshmen girls werent that bad either...but that was verryy rare to find a decent one...anyways.

rite now.

Right man. right.

Dude school kicks ass. Live it; love it. In 10 years (as Dave says) you're gonna look back and think '**** that was easy'.

Serious. Dude. Relish and Rue my man.

I always find it so interesting that people would want to go to college. I'm sure many people think that going to school and taking film classes is a good use of money. Also lets not forget the backup classes...just incase this whole film making thing doesn't work out. I found college to be the biggest waste of time...for me. That's why I only did a half assed two years, taking things I wanted to learn and only being disappointed by the classes and the teachers. I'm sure many people get something out of it. But if your going there for filmmaking drop out now.

I work as a projectionist at the studios and make more money than most people coming out of college do. I never went to school for this job. I just learned while I was in high school. But working at all the different studios around town I have built up contacts and learned more than I know I would have if I went to film school. Also I had no one in the industry to help me get in. I had to work for nothing for a while. But that's how it goes in this industry, you have to pay your dues.

So blckhawk542, your in high school? I ask because of your last post made it seem like your are.

Thanks for the correction John...i know how to spell..im just used to typing out right like rite...duno why...the G and H are annoyin to click so T and E are easier. lol

Well..im gonna defintly appreciate what i have in school now..but ten years..its gonna be evennnn better...gonna be sitting on a chair looking at a few preview monitors with headphones on my head yelling ACTION or CUT! and yelling at stupid actors (yelling at actors is fun btw).

but I know i'm gonna miss school..i miss elementary and the thigns about that school..and middle school... high school.....if only you could reverse to certain periods of life for a few moments...it would be awesome...i know i would to certain periods..

I was talking with a friend of mine today about how college has changed. It seems that "back in the day" people went off to college because they had a desire to learn and further their knowledge so they could one day better the world.

I remember two years ago when I began looking for colleges, I would have family friends ask me if I was planning to go to college, and the only thing I could think was, "why wouldn't I?"

Now it seems like if you don't go to school and earn a degree your resume won't even be looked at for whatever job you're looking to apply for.

I could be thinking about this backward, but both myself and my friend came to that conclusion. And then we went out drinking. :) How the hell do you do the smily with the beer? That would be so fitting at this time.

School is great. Business Law was probably the single most useful copurse I ever took after age 14, since I still use that knowledge all the time. It's not tough once you "get it", just tedious until you apply it. Just get over the fact that you have to read everything three times.

Wivellicious, I think it really depends on what you want to do as a career. I know other people within the industry that only did a little college and their working along just fine. Plus in the film industry people mostly care about your work experience, which is kind of a pain in the ass to get a job because its a catch 22 situation in most cases. It also depends on what kind of job you wanted. That's why you need to network and maybe some day someone will help you out.

Yea well...if my shot at the big time movie making business goes down the drain for some reason...I have somewat of something to fall back on..which is be a musician...im in a band right now...we got a few songs...and are gonna record prettyyy soon...my friend knows a few people in the music industry.

But id really like to get into film...but its soo hard to get into it!!! Its gonna be impossible for me to get in...unless i make a good movie and play it at Sundance or something...or if i network with someone..but i dont know anyybody...oh boy..
