Scene detection in VEGAS won't work

Hello,

I think the worst part of making movies is the tedious capture process, I know, I should get one of those HDD recorders, but my budget won't allow this at the time.

I usually capture the whole tape and deal with it later. This worked fine, the "Scene Detection" feature in vegas is a godsend in these situations. Well was. Because now It doesn't detect scenes anymore and I am left with a 13GB videofile laying in my timeline.

What causes the Scene detection to not work anymore? (Yes it's checked in preferences) Is there any camera settings I've changed by mistake that disturbs this feature?

I even re-installed Windows and encountered the same problem (that's why I suspect something with the camera)

Help is soo wanted!!

Thanks :)

It might be a tape problem. I know that in premiere, if I try and scene record with a tape I have dubbed in our DVcam deck, it won't scene record.

When the clock is not set in the camera. Is this a new camcorder or did you change the internal battery?

When I bring in footage that was shot with my camera using the MQ tapes it works fine. But I also edit other stuff that was shot on another DVX and when I bring in footage from it, it doesnt work.. His tapes are cheap maxell tapes. Im not sure if he has changed anything with his camera but I know it does depend on the camera. It doesnt depend on the camera that you capture from however.
