Scene Detection Canon xh-a1

I'm having an issue of Vegas 7e not detecting the camera cuts when capturing SD footage from my canon xh-a1. It just capture the hole video and not individual files like it does when I capture footage from my sony pd-170 . Any help ?

Did you set the clock in the xh-a1?

no I did not, What clock?

The Date/Time in the camera. If you don't set the clock, scenes won't be detected as they're detected via jumps in the Date/Time.

If the clock wasn't set when I shot some footage, is it possible to still capture with scene detection?

I shot a football game and it's a huge pain not having scene detection.

No. But you might try the "optical detection" option in Scenalyzer Live.

Now you know the procedure, though:

Step 1. Buy Camera
Step 2. Set the camera's clock
Step 3. Learn everything else about the camera

I set the camera the second I opened it a year ago, but just recently I reset it for another reason, and forgot to set the clock.

I'll have to look into Scenalyzer Live.

Scenalyzer Live doesn't work with HDV.

Are there any other optical scene detection softwares that work with HDV?

I was talking about my own problem. I have HDV footage that I shot with my clock not set.

I am on somewhat of a deadline and have nearly 400 different clips that will be a huge pain to separate and save myself.
