Usually when I capture I manually set in and out points and name my clip properly. More and more I'm tempted to just capture the whole tape with Scene Detect (for efficiency as well as guarantee of clean 24pa cadences).
How do you guys then go about properly naming your clips? I'd prefer to have both the actual filename and the name in my project window match for organization's sake. The Project window is no problem, but is there a way to get Premiere to rename the actual file? Or is my best bet just to go into Windows Explorer, view each file, name it appropriately, and then import it into my project? If so, is all of the capture information (Tape name, in and outs, etc) saved in the avi's metadata, or is that info just in my project (in case I find dropouts and have to recapture, etc)?
EDIT: P.S. Using Ppro2
