how do i save my project on my laptop to open it up on my desktop or email the project i tried saving to a memory stick but there where no video files thanks
You want to save a Final Cut Pro project correct? That is simply the Final Cut Pro project file that you create when you hit save from the file menu. However, the project file is just a pointer. It points to where all the media is, but the project file in itself is not the media at all. So if you want to move all of your work over, you need to move all of the media over as well. In such a situation, people will use external hard drives to do just that. If your project file points to the media on the external hard drive, as long as you have the project file and the external hard drive, any FCP system you work on will be able to reconnect for you (and thus allow you to continue editing).
