Saving Clips

What is the most effective way to save individual clips -- and/or groups of clips -- that have been trimmed in the timeline for use in another project?

Thanks for responding.

Unfortunately, that doesn't work. And even if it did, the problem with that method would be that you'd have to close the project you're working on first.

I'm looking for a method that would allow me to drop trimmed clips into various bins or folders as I'm editing... each bin or folder then to be used in separate projects.

I've seen this done in Premiere with their bins...surely Vegas has this ability as well?

Thanks for jumping in David.

What you describe is the way that I'm doing it. Maybe my workflow is screwy, but I am constantly coming across clips that I need to put into a different veg file and this just seems a bit clumsy for vegas. I was amazed at the simplicity of Premiere's approach...just copy the trimmed clip from the timeline and drop it into Premiere's version of a bin where its available for next project.

So, for example, if you're sifting clips for a trailer as you go, you just create a trailer bin and plop things in as you go.

This is the first time I've EVER been envious of another NLE. Certainly not a deal breaker, just be nice to figure out a smoother way in Vegas.
