Saving an AVI to CD

Hi guys,

Ok here's the deal. I have converted a project to one big AVI file, about 8 gigs or so. I wanted to burn it to a cd to be able to pull up the file on another computer without having to bring over all the source footage and stuff. Now I'm having the problem that the 8 gig project won't fit on my 5 gig cd. I know this is the cheap version of an external hard drive, but I'm broke and I do what I can. So is there any way of saving with more compression so it'll fit on the cd? :undecided:

5GB CD? I think not..........
Do you mean DVD? and in that case it's only 4.7GB
If DVD's are your only option, you'll need to put the clip in your timeline, cut it in half and put the second half on a new timeline then export two seperate AVI's and burn them to TWO DVD's.

or.... Something like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822161304

or.... If you have the full version of WinZip, you could zip it then "span" it across several disc.

Are you finished editing this clip? If so, you could output it as an mpeg or wmv or QT file and that would reduce the size.

If the two computers are within sight of each other, use networking. Share the drive on box "A" and connect to it from box "B" 2 network cables and a $20 hub.
