Win 7, Vegas 9e 32 bit, dual core 2.0 ghz, 4 gb ram.
Trying to save an AAF file is not working for me. I'm editing the AVI's straight from a DVX100, audio is 44.1 khz wave files recorded separately. Saving as an EDL text file gives me something, but if I try to save the project as an AAF (legacy or compliant) I just get an empty knarf.aaf.export file.
I haven't stripped the audio from the AVI files, and I usually just cancel when Vegas goes to build audio proxies - I thought that might have been causing the problem but after letting the proxy files get built, no luck.
I tried playing with the two aaf settings (match audio to frame rate, clip/track levels) in preferences, embedding the audio, and changing all the crossfades to straight cuts, still no dice. There are only two other potential issues I can think of.
1. A few video events have altered playback rates or velocity envelopes. According to the help document, time-stretched video is supported - however, it's not explicit if stretching due to velocity envelopes are treated differently.
2. All of the audio was recorded punching in on Vegas, with multiple takes per event. Those events were then split into several smaller events, with different takes chosen for each split section. Could this be causing trouble?
Would either or both of these cause trouble for exporting? Any other ideas on what I might be missing? I know the cross-platform issue is Vegas' Achilles heel, but when they offer to save an AAF file, I expect to get something other than an empty file. I appreciate any thoughts.
