Sapphire Plugin

Has anyone used the Sapphire Plugins:

I saw a demo of these at DV Expo and I was blown away.

I am seriously thinking about spending $1,600 on this set of effects and was wondering if anyone had any experience with them.

Re: Sapphire Plugin

Do they compare to Magic Bullet? Or do they do the opposite thing? If they compare, which one is more powerful?

Re: Sapphire Plugin

Well, if you tried it and didn't like it, don't tell me now, cause I just ordered it.

I'll let you all know what I think after I get a chance to play with it.

Chris,

I'm sure you won't be disappointed--they have an amazing reputation. I'm jealous :'(.

Re: Sapphire Plugin

Let me know what you think when you get them. I'm looking into getting that or Magic Bullet but still unsure...

Re: Sapphire Plugin

I feel like I won the lottery. I work in corporate america, my passion and my hobby is films. Well, my boss heard about what I was doing on the side and asked if i could film a souped up presentation with some special effects, I told him I could but I would need some addiitional equipment. He didn't even blink an eye and said yes.

It's like Christmas in August.

Re: Sapphire Plugin

Magic Bullet and Sapphire have very different functions. Sapphire is a set of special FX plugs, while Magic Bullet is more of a "film look" processor.

Re: Sapphire Plugin

nice! so awesome your boss is letting you do this!

definitly one look at the sapphire website says its completly different then magic bullet.

Re: Sapphire Plugin

I got the sapphire program and have had an opportunity to play with it.

I have only scratched the surface, but I can honestly say it is amazing. I have spent hours just playing with it and my jaw is on the floor.

With my current film I used it to play with the lighting (you can see that here: http://www.OffStageFilms.com look at the before and after of color correction).

In my next film (for work) I will be using a bunch of the special fx.

Anyway, if you have the money (or a generous boss) it is very impressive and a ton of fun.
