Sanyo does 1080P

Recording file format: ISO standard MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 (.MP4)
Full-HR: 1920 x 1080 (60 fps/ 24Mbps) Full HD: 1920 x 1080 (60fields/sec 16Mbps)

Yeah, 24p would be one of the main reasons I would get this. No other camera under except for some DSLRs shoot 1080p60, am I right?

it even has hi-speed mode!!! but with low resolution
High-Speed video
240 fps 448 x 336
600 fps 192 x 108

nevertheless it sweet to have it in one package :))

no optical stabilization this time :/

Isn't 1080/60p an "illegal" format? Its not on the ATSC broadcasting standards?

You are correct, either HD Broadcast is 720/60p or it's 1080/60i.

Now assuming we have the editing software that can deal with 1080/60p, we could shoot and edit in 1080/60p and output it as 1080/60i or 720/60p for broadcast. Both slow motion and freeze frames would be wonderful; because there's no interlace to deal with.

I believe that in the future, 1080/60p will be the standard for production.

Did you lose some information by converting 1080/60p to 720p? How is the workflow to do this? I live in switzerland we have PAL here: Never found no Infos from Sanyo if YACTI`s recording NTSC or PAL???

This next quote is taken from a Panasonic brochure on the HVX200a:

"The AG-HVX200A's developed digital
signal processor for 1080/60p video
signals uses 14-bit A/D conversion and
19-bit inner processing to attain
unprecedented accuracy. While the
camera does not record 1080/60p, it is
from this capture that all other signals
are made. "

Is it possible that a future, possibly 3rd party upgrade could appear to allow the HVX to record 1080 60p?
What would stop it from happening?

I'm surprised at how little interest there is in 1080 60p. It seems to be a major step in the right direction. I could live with a 16 gig card giving 8 min instead of 16.
