Sanken metal wind mesh?

What's your opinion on the wind mesh? I know guys that don't like to use it cause they think it makes the sound muffled.

I assume you're asking about a COS-11?
If so, the metal windscreen doesn't alter the freq response.
If it does it's less than what is noticable by my ear at least.
I use them constantly.

Interesting, what's your reason for putting it on? as a pop filter? rustling clothing? wind?

Wind, plosives and spit, I would assume.. if so exposed. I wouldn't think it would 'reduce' clothing noise. In any case I've never had it on the mic.
