HDR or High Dynamic Range is all the rage these days, popping up on devices like TVs and gaming consoles. Without getting too technical, HDR basically promises a more vivid viewing experience with colors that pop to provide a more true-to-life experience. You obviously need compatible content and display to take advantage of HDR.

Samsung pointed out during its presentation today that the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ have been awarded the Mobile HDR Premium certification by the UHD alliance. This certification signifies the ability of the Galaxy S8′s impressive Infinity Display to support HDR content.

The company has inked partnerships with the likes of Amazon Video and others to bring their HDR content to its latest flagship device.

Does it come with a free fire starter? Wouldn't have had problems if they still had batteries you could replace!

The Galaxy S8 is the first Samsung phone to undergo the company's eight-point battery check, including this Accelerated Usage Test (AUT).

I wonder how they make the phone draw as much as it can from the battery for testing. It's probably a good phone but I'm a little sour on some of the changes they make from basic Android to their Samsung version. If Google would put an SD card slot in their phones, I would probably own one.

^ My guess: with some number-crunching app they made just for this. Either that, or a benchmarking app set on loop.
