I had to borrow my friends camera because my precious dvx is in the shop and while I was shooting I didn't notice that the audio was set to 12 bit. Now when I capture FCP pops up a window that says that my sample rate from the camera and the sequence settings did not match and this may cause synching problems.
Now I'm no expert with audio, but I don't really see how capturing 12 bit audio as 16 bit could possibly throw your audio out of synch. But who wants to run into problems like this when they finally make the dvd?
Anyways I went into the sequence settings and poked around and only saw that I could set it to 16 bit audio and 8 bit audio, but no 12 bit. Is this really a problem? Should I be worrying? Or should I just pretend like nothing happened?
