SAG + Young Performers + Schooling Requirements

Looking for a little help on the school requirements of people under the age of 18.

If I were to film during summer vacation, would those individuals under 18 be required to have a tutor? They wouldn't otherwise normally be in school, so...

Lots of information for the state of CA about how it works. I think with SAG you're suppose to check your local state's child regulations and then compare them to CA's and go with whichever is stricter.

From my memory you only have to provide tutors is the child is a) normally in school during the shoot and b) misses more than three consecutive days because of the shoot. Then I believe it is at least three hours a day of schooling.

Check the SAG handbook or call up a representative. Or talk to a good AD you know; quite a few of them know the rules very very well.
