SAG ULB - Do you have to be a LLC, DBA or etc?

Another question, if you are waiting for SAG papers to clear can you still shoot with your non union talent?

When you use a payroll service, you yourself (or your company) are NOT, in fact, the employer of the actors. Instead, the payroll company is the employer
I'm not sure about this. As the employer, you can still engage a payroll service to pay the talent (and crew) for you, but you are still the employer-of-record. If I am not wrong, I think you meant that you could hire a "signatory" company to be the principal in the SAG contract for you, and therefore you won't have to sign and be responsible for the SAG contract yourself. Companies charge anywhere between 3 - 12% for this 'signatory' service, on top of the cost of the payroll and their markup on it.
