Safe to iron greenscreen?

From what I understand, true chromakey greenscreen should be made out of cotton. Hence, you should be able to iron. Eventhough you should be able to, I would do it very carefully and not leave iron on to long in one spot. Make sure iron is really hot, that way you do not have to leave the iron on for long to smooth out. Hope this helps.

I would try a steamer before I try an iron, you can pick one up cheap

You could also just get a spray bottle, put water in it and give the thing a light spray.

When you fold it up, try and do "soft folds" and then do a final roll up.

We always use a steamer, works slowly but great.
