I just purchased the Sachtler DV6SB - and would like clarification/advice on an instruction listed on p. 5 of the manual. Sachtler requests that 'for smooth operation over the life of the head'...user should 'turn setting rings from position "0" to max. position, before and after use...'. First, why is this necessary, and if you don't do it...is there potential real "damage" involved?!? Second, after you've finished using the tripod...do you turn rings from '0 to maximum postion' and leave them at 5 or does it matter? Any input would be appreciated.
