Anyone out there using a Sachtler Cine 7+7 that could give me some advice? How do you like the side load M plate compared to the Touch & Go plate on the Video 18 and 20? Does it have any other advantages or disadvantages?

I’m trying to decide between purchasing the Cine 7+7 and Video 20 and don’t have time to go back to NY to play with them some more. I’ll be using the tripod with a Sony F3 that weighs in at 25 lbs, often with a teleprompter that weighs about 10 lbs. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hey Kirk, I just returned from an intensive 5-day shoot with my new Cine 7+7 and it could not have performed better. I like the side load M plate a lot, it's simply a very quick and easy way to go from handheld to tripod and vice versa. I used my new Canon C300 with Zacuto Scorpion and Stinger rigs, which is of course a little lighter than your setup, but I know that it performs the exact same way with more weight on it. I am happy that I have this plate for it, it's also very secure and for me, speed is everything when changing from handheld to tripod.

By the way, be sure to get the optional front pan bar for the Cine 7+7 if you chose to buy it. It helped me tremendously to do exact pans. At some point I had a 200mm lens on it and was able to do very subtle pans with it because I had my second hand on the front pan bar.

That's the one I have: http://www.sachtler.com/us/products...mera-support_front-pan-bar-hd-s_pan-bars.html

I'm debating between the 7+7 vs. the oconnor 1030d or 1030ds. Does anyone have experience with either?

What legs would you recommend with the 7+7?
