Sachtler Ace M QR System

I'd like to replace my crappy $80 tripod with something nicer and I've settled on this: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/822102-REG/Sachtler_1001_Ace_Fluid_Head_with.html

I asked B&H what QR plate and receiver I could use that would be compatible with this and they said there isn't one and that I would just need to adapt a different system to it. I was curious if you guys knew of any products that maybe worked but didn't list compatibility, or something similar. I'd rather not adapt QR system onto the plate of the camera if I can avoid it.

Thanks!

P.S. The application of the tripod is for a youtube channel with a weekly video production schedule. Nothing too hardcore.

I don't own one, so I could be mistaken, but I thought the Sachtler Ace uses a QR plate that is the same as the ubiquitous Manfrotto 501 style plates. Maybe someone else here can confirm that.

The tripod comes with its own quick-release plate that you would attach under your camera.

What is it exactly that you're trying to do?

Do you have a variety of cameras all with the same plate and are interested in quickly swapping them back and forth on this tripod? (And you would like to figure out how to do this if the plates aren't compatible?)

I'd like to be able to transfer my camera between tripod, slider, and other various armatures I have, so I'd like to get the QR system for the tripod that I own so I can move it around without need to remove the QR plate from the tripod. Sounds like Manfrotto's 501 plates are right.

EG: I'm considering buying a new Ace XL but I wonder about the amount of fluid drag you get. I am borrowing an Ace M and it's not enough for me even with an A7R. The XL has stronger counterbalance but did they increase the drag? Thanks

Not sure, as I have never used the M so have nothing to compare it too.

If you happen to be in the north NJ area, you’re welcome to come by to check ot out.
