S-Video vrs. RCA Connection?

I'm usingf a Phillips 19" flat screen TV as an external reference monitor with a DVX-100A. Will I get better picture quality using an s-video connection as opposed to RCA plugs?

The Phillips picture is decent, even though it's an inexpensive TV. Just wondering if it's worth buying an s-video cable?

tried it awhile back w/ two dvd players but the result looks the same.

phillips LCD(not flat screen) TV has great picture. the brand doesnt get enough attention like others. we bought one but returned for a samsung bc the software is very poor.
