S-Video Ouput No-Workie

Tech question regarding Final Cut ProHD 4.5:

I remember when I could use my television as a viewer with my powerbook using the s-video output instead of firewire. The "audio/video settings" used to have settings like "desktop preview" etc. On my dual G5 and PBG4, that option has dissapeared. Under the "video output" section, I am only getting firewire outputs only. Any ideas on how to get this option back? I have trashed the FCP prefs with no help. My last resort is to reinstall FCP although I don't want to do that if I can help it.

G5 dont have s-video out.....??

An add on card would.

try- view> external video> all frames and see if that enables it.
you may be able to run firewire out to your camera as a through with the
video out to the tv. not sure if video out of the camera will work though...
and you shouldn't need to do that if you have a video out on your card.
i wouldn't recommend reloading fcp.
