s*%t people say to women directors

Sad to say I have seen stuff like this go down.

But I've also seen some awesome women tear those people a new one!
If only the cameras were rolling on THAT!

The trouble is that it is not the sex that's the issue, it's the way people come across. Plenty of males who should be in charge fail before they even open their mouth. Some girls do the exact same thing, but then cite discrimination as the reason. The excellent females I have worked under in the past have been good at their job, and their sex irrelevant. Respect and ability are what matters, and some people seem to 'leak' it. Others (male and female) ring warning bells from the start. The people who are not very good always seek excuses, and sexism is such a common one. Some people cannot deal with members of the opposite sex of course - but these people also have issues with same sex.

I get a bit fed up with people finding 'isms' everywhere, when although some is blatant real 'ism', an awful lot is excuses!

Lots of those stories in the link you could easily imagine happening but quite a few are just interpersonal conflict, and the sex difference not really the key.

I work in a male dominated workplace for some roles and a female one for others. Everyone has strengths and weaknesses, and they rarely have anything to do with their sex. Conflicts often occur, but very rarely are they down to the isms. As one told me after a big bust up, "we didn't fall out because he's sexist, we fell out because he's a tw*t!"
