Looking at getting a softie type windshield for rode ntg3 mic - have a rycote softie for my at4073a mic & its ok in light breezes - has anyone compared the rycote softie (£80) with the rode equivalent- Rode WS7 Large Deluxe Windshield (£47)?

Is there any quality difference between the 2, & is it worth the price difference to get the rycote softie?

heres the Rode WS7 Large Deluxe Windshield

the rycote softie seems to be hard to find sold on its own these days, are they phasing it out, is there something better on offer?

hi thanks for the response & feedback....didnt think there'd be much in it performance wise. Have just been looking at that 330 kit but I already have the rode blimp for strong wind & on a boom, am looking for something that i can camera mount when i'm on my own & use on a boom in lighter wind.
Another system I've just seen is the Rycote Universal Camera kit - a different style of windshield which also comes with what I've heard is a great suspension mount. Does anyone have any experience with this system, looks a bit more refined than the softie & comes with a few useful bits of kit. Cant seem to find any reviews though on whether its as effective as a softie

I'm trying to choose between the softie, the WS7 or something else. Any opinions on the kit you linked to?

The Softie would be better than the WS7, IMHO - Rycote heavily research their products and thoroughly understand the science behind it. All the others are copies, seeing as Rycote invented the Softie in the first place.

But the Rycote MiniScreen with it's Windjammer is actually more effective than the Softie - and it's cheaper (which is maybe why Rycote keep quiet  )

yes I bought the kit & i do think its better than the rycote softie, the suspension mount is also very good

Yes I researched the Rycote Miniscreen and it attenuates the wind a few more DB than their Softie - and it's cheaper.
