Rycote G5 boom pole

Has anyone had any experience with the boom poles from Rycote? Are they noisy? Does the "quick release mechanism" work well?

Yes, they are excellent and the quick-release mechanism certainly works well.

They are also very easy to disassemble for cleaning - dirt getting in the mechanism is all too common and cleaning can be difficult if you can't take it apart easily. With the Rycote it's simple.
