I remember seeing his stuff back in 1999' when he just posted his storyboards.
Funny thing is, the book came out before the movie
But still, loots great so far.
I remember one of his first shots, he talked about how he batch exported EVERY SINGLE frame of the animated sky in PhotoShop before he had his hands on After Effects.
He's not even using 3D Studio Max or Maya.
Perfect example of how a little budget can take you very far.
going to the link now. hope its to see the finished work as i've been trying to follow this since I saw it years ago. I dont think he's even using max. He wanted to do it without using any of the big 3d apps from what I remember reading.
Pretty inspiring work. Amazing what that guy can do with a discontinued piece of software. Just goes to show that it aint the software that makes the artist.
That is too cool, yep that aint gonna happen in a weekend, of course it's been going on for years. One guy, one Mac....years. The quality of his work is astounding. Thanks for sharing John
no not MAX. The whole thing about Rustboy was that he did it on affordable software. If I can remember.. he uses Infini-D. Which was a few hundred bucks at the time. I'm not even sure if they still make it.

Aside from the creator doing it with little to no budget this was what originally drew me to the work. As soon as I saw it i thought of Burton. I hope to see the finished film sometime in the near future
