I keep seeing the trailer on TV, and it seemed like they pulled of some cool stuff- visually. Today, one add said that you could see the first 6 minutes on their website. So I did:

http://www.runningscaredthemovie.com/

The first thing I thought was, wow, they actually shot digital! When I checked they're IMDb specs, I found out that it was shot on Super 35. Wow, that really doesn't look very good for Super 35. I think it's because they used REALLY wide lenses, and VERY deep focus. My guess would be that they did this because there's so much effects work, that they wanted everything to be very clear.

In either instance, the first 6 minutes seemed okay. There were some cool shots and VFX, but it got more irritating than anything. I feel like it would be like watching Domino again, just a huge assault on all my senses for an hour and a half.

I say, watch the first 6 minutes, but I'll definitely pass this one up.

It looks pretty good, but I don't like Paul Walker. I can't stand his acting. I hated the Fast and the Furious movies. So i think i'll skip this one.... its a possibility that i'll see it but not a good possibility

wow they require you to verify your age before checking the preview and they verify by cross referencing with the ID database. Not cool at all for me.

Yeah, it's weird. There's a naked stripper on the side of the .mov file that opens.

...bizzare.

I can't help but think of the awful Billy Crystal movie from the 80s. Wish they had chosen a different title! * Sigh *

Ha. I thought it was a remake of that movie. I guess it's safe to watch the trailer now.:D

I've been so so with this but then I saw that wayne Kramer the writer/director wrote and directed the Cooler which was a great film... so I'll be there...

I'm with ravinsedge. Can't tolerate Paul Walker. And the fact 8 below was a number one movie this weekend has put me in a funk all day.

I think he's getting better at what he does and I can't see him going anywhere regardless there's more to a film than one actor. they just posted a pretty good Int. with the director over at JoBlo.com http://www.joblo.com/index.php?id=10446

yeah i agree that there's a lot more to a film than one actor. but if that one actor is the lead and his acting shows no emotion whatsoever (like walker does) then it totally ruins the film for me...

Just like Keanu Reeves in Speed!

that 6min preview looks like a game intro or game cinematic...especialy with how it ended...with that wide angle POV shot...i could definitly imagine hopping out of that car and running around grand theft auto style and jackin up sum muddafuggas.

Its a wonder any of us lived through XXX given the double whammy that is Vin Diesel AND Paul Walker. I didnt mind Paul, but it could have been Vin was so bad it eclipsed little Paulie. Kinda like breaking your arm to forget that you stumped your toe.

Don't you mean The Fast and the Furious? Paul Walker wasn't in XXX. I couldn't stand either one of those movies. Even if the acting was better I can't watch those movies...

Best movie I've seen in a long time!!!

Killer visuals, unique storytelling, hardcore violence, gritty, slighty twisted, solid acting(including Walker)... kicked ass.

Though the title seemed odd to me before going in, now that it's over it makes way more sense.

Very solid flick. Wayne Kramer(director) is forging a strong career. This movie is a 180 to the Cooler in style, and shows this guy's range.
