Running Premiere while rendering in AEFX?

Do you guys work in Premiere while rendering in After Effects at the same time on the same machine? I'm old school from waaaay back when 512MB RAM was a lot and later 4GB and only running one program at a time. Yet now Im watching CS6 and it says 10-19% RAM being used and I'm not running anything besides After Effects so I'm wondering if I could go ahead and work in Premiere at the same time or if it will have adverse effects. I have a 6 core i7 with 32GB RAM and working with mostly AVCHD footage.
 
The answer is yes, but....

I do this all the time on my i7 with 32GB. (I'm using Creative Cloud, but I've also done it with CS6.) Particularly since you are working with AVCHD footage, any slowdown with AE is probably from processor, not RAM. Sometimes you may find that Premiere gets slow or even unresponsive for a second or two while AE completes something.
