Running a jib on top of a Dana Dolly?

Hi guys,

I've got a lightweight 4' jib that I use for smaller cameras, but now that I've got an F3 as well I'm looking into adding a heavier duty jib like the Seven Jib to my support gear.

And what I'm wondering is if anyone's had experience flying a mid-sized jib on top of skate-wheel type dolly/slider like the Dana Dolly?

I'm wondering whether it's going to be a safe and appropriate means to add horizontal moves to my vertical jib movements.

Cheers

I do it all the time with my CamTram and Cambo jib. The CamTram has bottom wheels that make it that the jib can't pull the dolly of its track. You might want to look into making some safety features for the Dana.

I have a DigitalJuice Orbit Dolly and it works just fine with a Kessler PocketJib a 16lbs head, a 10lbs camera rig and 35 lbs of counter wight on top of it.

If you don't use floor tracks, just make sure you get speedrail and some solid stands.

Thanks fellas, much appreciated.

I'd definitely run some crossbars or something underneath the Dana, to prevent it from being able to tip over.
