Ruige Monitor

Okay, I'd love to get a new TVLogic 7 inch monitor, but can't cough up the two and a half grand. To anyone who owns a Ruige 7 inch monitor, what has your experience been? It has most of the TVLogic features at 1/5th the cost. Not knocking TVLogic - magnesium rather than plastic, scopes and more, but I mainly want the monitor to focus with my AF100 and get some idea of the color I'm getting. Don't want to go small than 7 inch screen as these old eyes are getting tired. The resolution is the same as TVLogic and it has a zoom and peaking for focus. Worth 500 bucks or am I just dreaming?

For me it was financial choice between the SmallHD DP-6 and something else . . . I'd spent a ton of money on other stuff over the past couple weeks.
I'd been waiting for two weeks for SmallHD to run the special on the bundle (as stated during NAB, was supposed to be on/around 4/24).
Never happended (they did do a NAB special on the monitor but not the bundle).

I ordered my Ruige TL S701HD online from CoolLCD and received it in about 5 days (might have been 4).
I was a little apprehensive because of a disappointment with a Lilliput about a year ago, but . . .

The color representation is in the league of the LCD on the AF-100.
The zoom (by way of included wired remote) and peaking work as advertised.
I thought that built-on (you can snap it off) hood was going to be "iffy" but it's actually pretty slick . . . and better than the fabric one that's also included.
I'm, btw, going SDI out from the camera to a Black Magic's HyperDeck Shuttle2 then HDMI from the Shuttle to the monitor . . . no issues.

If you don't require the bells and whistles of a higher end monitor and you're main concern is being able to frame & focus there's no way you will be disappointed.
