Rubber Lenshood for the Zeiss CP.3

Hello guys,

I am shooting with the Zeiss CP.3 lens, which are pretty small, compared to the CP.2 or other cine lens. The front diameter is listed as 95mm.
Very often I need to have a small camera setup for use on gimbals. So I wanted to go without a mattebox, but with a lens hood, that could be screwed on the CP.3 lens.

I found this "Heliopan 95mm Rubber Lenshood" on ebay.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Heliopan-9...k/262940104412

Although it is listed as 95mm diameter, it does NOT fit the Zeiss CP.3 front element.

The Heliopan screw is slightly larger, although the lens should have the larger screw.

I got the ruler and had it measured manually. The Zeiss CP.3 really is 94mm (not 95mm). That is unexpected...
Does anyone have info on such a matter?

Is there a lenshood that is tested on these lens?

Thanks for any opinions.

Wow it seems I was mis-informed. The Zeiss CP.3 never had a 95mm thread. The product info states 95mm diameter, but not a thread. Here is the official answer:

"Thanks for your inquiry and congratulations to your new CP.3 lenses!
The CP.3 lenses are NOT equipped with a front filter thread mount, so screw-in filters CANNOT be used.
As mentioned in the data sheets, the outer front diameter of the CP.3 lenses is 95mm. So they can be used with all clamp-on filter holders, matte boxes or donuts (matte box mounted on a rig) for a 95mm diameter.
For further details, please do not hesitate to contact us!"

Imamacuser, thanks for the suggestion. Such a plastic ring may be able to hold both on the lens part and the hood part. Will consult with a 3D printing guy :)
