Rretreiving footage from dvd? What software to use?

I am shooting straight to a dvd burner via firewwire for my church and am looking for a software product to retrieve some footage for editing to the web. Does anyone have a recommendation?

Also for Mac's, Mac The Ripper does a good job of ripping, and it's free.

I have used Handbrake and Mac the Ripper and I agree with Nick. Use Mac the Ripper and then use Squared 5 to do the encoding. It works like a charm.

I love DVDxDV... mac the ripper just makes a disc image, as far as i know...
DVDxDV gets you an editable qt movie....

DVDxDV is $25 bucks and from the looks of it, it will only create mov files. If you use Mac The Ripper (free) to rip the dvd to your desktop, then you can use MPEG Streamclip (free on squared 5 website) to take your file and export it as a DVCPRO 50 DV file.
