Royalty Free Music?

What does "BEST" mean? Most "big orchestra" sounding? Best range of lengths available? Best range of instrumentation options available? Widest variety of moods and styles? Best indexing? Online previewing? Lowest cost? Perhaps a dozen other methods of defining "Best".

Not sure if this is the place for it but which site is the best site for royalty free music?

I'm a fan of Smartsound's SonicFire library. Also check out Dewolf. Note that "royalty free" does not mean the license is free - it only means there are no on-going performance royalty payments due after the initial license fee.

NASDAQSUPERSTAR, In order for anyone to help you'll need to let us know what sort of music you want. When you say the best, as Richard Crowley pointed out - what sort of music are you after? There probably are sites that deal with many genres, but if you know exactly what you need then you have more options!

Let us know.

I was looking for music I could put on a short web commercial...any suggestions?

In addition to what genre you're looking for, are you looking for music that is completely free of any cost whatever or are you looking for royalty free (ie, needle drop or buyout) libraries? The fact that it is for a "short web commercial" doesn't give any indication at all of what you're looking for. Heck, that's so general than it could be mean you either want music for an ad promoting a website to be run on radio or TV or it could mean an ad to be viewed on a website for a product, service, or information that is being offered to site visitors. How about nailing it down like "I need to license some klezmer-style wedding music for an ad to be placed on a website featuring information about wedding venues and services in the Catskills. Any recommended libraries to look at?"

So I assume you mean Russian disco from 1989. Perfect. Just go to www.russiandisco1989.com and pick "files the length of short web commercial" as the exact length you want.

Sorry to be a smart ass, but you need to use your words to convey what you need. Can you convey a style? Rock? Country? Classical? Can you say if you need a 30 sec, 60sec, 3 minute file? Can you say if you have any budget to pay for one track?

I think we could simplify this thread quite easily simply by saying:

"Do a search". There is a nifty feature on DVXUser that enables you to search prior posts - and there have been hundreds if not thousands on this very topic.

I think we can just delete the thread. The guy obviously doesn't follow up on his own thread - which is rude when people are trying to help him.

The top hit when I clicked the link was Amazon.

"Russian Disco at Amazon

Low prices on Russian Disco."

LOL
