I'm putting this here for anyone thinking about buying them because there isn't much online about them. Spend your money on something else. These are essentially led ceiling panels and they aren't very bright. They talk about how soft their light panels are because the light shoots inwards instead of straight forward. It just isn't that soft. It's softer than other comparably priced panels but you will still want to modify your light with a bounce, softbox, umbrella or something. It isn't nearly as bright as any of the other leds in the same price range.
I recently bought 2 of the 2000 led light panels from Camtree. They are 2' X 1'. It's just 2 X 1' X 1's housed together. I got the Rosco LitePad on ebay for 443 which is about the same price as one of the Camtree lights. The Camtree panels are dimmable, the Rosco's are not, not without buying a 100 dollar dimmer, which I think you can get for 3 dollars if you want a generic brand 12v dimmer from ebay. To mount the Rosco, you need to spend another 20-100 dollars depending on the equipment you already have. The Camtree comes with stands that are comparable to the Smith Victor cheapie stands at that price and the light will go onto your stands too. Their stands are fine, you will just definitely need to sandbag them whenever you use them outdoors.
Most importantly, the Camtree is much lighter and much much brighter. The Camtree also has barn doors on the top and bottom.
I'd also prefer 4 z96 lights to the Rosco Litepad. It's just not that bright. the vids they have up make it look a lot brighter than it is. That's why many light reviews read off the aperture, iso and shutter speed. Look for that in an independent review for any lights you are considering buying.
I'm about to grab one of the Came lights from China. The Cheesycam guy, Emm did a couple positive reviews that were echoed and I messaged them on ebay and the numbers they gave me are about 2 times as bright as the Camtree lights (lumens and lux at different distances) at the same price. It's a led look so I'm going to have to diffuse it or bounce it for the look I want most of the time anyway, I might as well get the most light I can get.
I'm considering one of the panels with 72 leds from Camtree too.
I hope this helps someone.
Are there any other comparably priced options I should be looking at?
Do any of you have both LitePanels and Camtree/Came? Or Dracast with Camtree/Came? I would love to know how they compare.
