Roof Scene

Except acting a mock up off a roof on stage. With a greenscreen in the background to edit in the scenary later. Is there any other way to film things on a skyscraper roof. Course the real thing isn't exactly an option due to safety and so on. But I'm wondering if anyone knows of any other ideas?

There's got to be a tall public viewpoint or platform by where you live. Think of a scenic viewpoint, something with a large barrier or handrail. Then have the cast right up against it - shoot skyward a bit, and zoom in on the actors....which will leave the background soft.

Obviously before that you would have filmed an establishing of a skyscraper.

If you're looking for rooftop machinery and a real skyscraper roof I'd try a smaller building and get permission on that, maybe a strip mall roof. then follow the rules above.
