Ronin M price is $1399!

I am getting on the list too, that price, for something that isn't a hacked together, semi homemade rig like the Came, is very tempting. Most feedback I have heard about DJI seems decent too. I have an upcoming shoot in a few weeks that the Ronin-M would be perfect for. But who knows if they will ship before May 15th (when I would need it) or even in May at all?

Here's my experience with DJI...

Their products are nice. Really nice in a lot of cases. Well-priced too.

Their support is f*cking terrible. Like criminally bad.

I say this as someone who owns or has owned:

4 Phantoms of various generations with their Zenmuse gimbals
Spreading Wings S900 Hexacopter & Zenmuse Z15
Ronin (full-size)
A half-dozen of their flight controllers (Naza-M to A2)

Just an example. The S900 has a 50-cent piece of plastic that covers the power wires on the power distribution board for each arm. It's essentially a hollowed out plastic disk about 5" in diameter and 1/4" deep. Mine's developed a stripped hole and a crack, so I wanted a replacement. I take a look around and all I can find is the complete lower assembly for the aircraft... at like $300. It includes the piece tho!

So, I email DJI support and post on their forums. Forums tell me to email support, support tells me to call in. So, I do. I wait on hold (45 mins). Then I work through the "troubleshooting" steps with the guy on the phone. Finally, he tells me they can replace the cover, but I need to send the airframe into DJI for the repair. If you've seen an S900 in person, you know shipping it is going to be a *****... so I make sure the guy knows what I'm asking for. We're totally on the same page, but DJI's solution to replacing this 50-cent piece of plastic is spending $30-50 shipping a somewhat fragile piece of equipment (that's still functional as-is) to them for 2-4 weeks so they can unscrew four screws and put a new plate on there.

That said, I will probably buy a Ronin M... because the Ronin stuff is awesome and VERY easy to use. But I still think DJI needs to get their **** together support-wise.

Pre-Ordered mine a few days ago on B&H. Wondering with they will start shipping? The day they announced pricing DJI's site said "Ships 5-7 days after payment" .. now their site says "7-10 days"

Why? The Helix is double in price and the only big advantage that Im seeing is the ability to put it down without a stand.

What at about a Dutch roll? The helix can with a joystick. Than the Ronin? That's a very important feature for me.

I think you can adjust the roll sensitivity with the bluetooth app... at least that was my experience with the full sized ronin.

Yea, I'm sold on the Helix Jr. as well. The weight is one, So I can go from my A7s all the way up to my Dragon.

I have been researching the last few weeks on these gimbals and the Helix is as smooth as silk on some videos, just a little better than the Ronin-M
