Rolls MX422 Field Mixer

Ok,
I was always wondering why the SQN was so darn expensive, but as I didn´t had to buy it I just accepted it.
Now I´m looking into buying a field mixer and stumbled across the Rolls, is it any good?
The price is tempting of course...

Hello Spartacus,

Please do a search. We've beaten this one to death.

Also, in general, you haven't given us anywhere near enough information to help you. What kind of work are you trying to do? What is your budget? Why do you want a mixer in the first place? What other mixers are you/have you looked at and why did you reject them?

We get accused of being snobbish when it comes to gear way too often, so, to avoid this, please provide us with the extra info.

So, for example, if you're plugging your ME66 directly into the camera today, will you see improvement by using the Rolls? Probably marginal improvement. Are you targeting festivals or distribution, or are you making home movies or wedding videos? If the later, the Rolls may be a good option. If the former, it isn't good enough.

See what I mean? There are lots of variables in discussing whether something is good or bad. There are very few pieces of sound equipment where anyone here (other than maybe Oleg, who doesn't hesitate to speak his mind) can unequivocally state that it is unusable. It all depends on what you're trying to do.

Hahaha,
sorry guys, as a "video guy" when it comes to audio I probably think whats audio news to me is news to everyone;o)
So the Rolls has been discussed, I´ll start a search right on!
I´m used to work with a sound assistant for most of the time, using either the SQN3 or the SoundDevices mixer.
On the one-man-army gigs, lets say locked down two person interview, I use two wireless lavs directly plugged into the cam.
Additionally I also capture to a MBP sitting at a table and I keep standing up to check if the recievers are OK/battery is still full/turning down the volume etc...
Well, I thought, having the recievers right next to me plugged into a field mixer and adjusting everything from there would be more convenient...
Maybe there is a 2-way mixer out there doing the job?
