Rodes NTG-2 Question

I just cracked open the box of my new DVX100B. Along with it I ordered a shotgun mic (Rodes NTG-2). I hooked the NTG-2 up but I cant seem to shut off the on board mic. The NTG-2 is in input 1. How can I deactivate the onboard mic and activate the NTG-2?

Turn the volume down on the channel your ntg isn't on?

There are input control underneath the LCD screen that controls which inputs are activated...Set your left channel to input 1...
