rode ws7 or rycote miniscreen? opinions?

I"m interested in getting a windscreen for my rode ntg-3. I've been looking at the rode ws-7 and the rycote miniscreen windshield. A blimp is a bit out of my budget and I'd like to have the option for on-camera mounting.
Does one perform better than the other? Does anyone have first hand knowledge of one over the other?

The WS7 is going to be way better. The Rycote Miniscreen doesn't have any fur at all, so the Rode WS7 will obviously do a better job. If you want a more fair comparison, compare a Rode WS7 to a Rycote Windjammer.

It looks like there's a rycote camera kit that has the windjammer & windscreen included. Does anyone have any experience with the Rode WS7 vs the Rycote windjammer/screen ?

The Rycote Miniscreen with it's matching WIndjammer is better than a Softie.

I think it's cheaper to get the whole lot together as the Camera Kit.

The WS7 is just a copy of a Softie and the mount is a rubber one and not as good as a Rycote Lyre.

So, I would say, the best option is the Rycote Camera Kit.

The Rycote site claims that the softie has a greater db wind reduction not the Miniscreen with jammer:

John,

You seemed to imply the ws7 includes suspension, it doesn't. Maybe I misunderstood.

I own a couple of the rode ws softie products, and bang for the buck, they work just fine. Don't expect them to work in a hurricane. While not nearly as effective as a full blimp, they are very compact and very quick to use.

Yes the WS/7 does not have a suspension mount that is on the PG2 handgrip but as John says it is rubber.

I use the PG2 and WS/6 softies with my AT875r mics and have found them to be excellent value.
