RODE VideoMic v.s Senhieser MKE 300

I'm considering purchasing one of these mic's i know both arent what a lot of people here would consider professional, but they are in my price range of around 150. I'm leaning toward the rode but i have never heard either mic and i am just going on reviews and specs.

The RODE Videomic is pretty impressive for what it is. There is a good interview with the CEO on the rodemic site explaining why exactly RODE created the Videomic. It fills a need at the right price - but they still used the same professional quality pieces and technology they use in their higher end mics. Just remember the inverse square rule, the closer you can get the mic to the source, the better the sound. I would suggest getting this mic as close to the subject as you can. I have tested it on a 20' XLR cable with the RODE VXLR and can say it sounds amazing for the price - even better than the Audio Technica AT-835b. The MKE is also good, but no shockmount, no accessories, no bass rolloff.

I also like the fact that there is the "deadcat" windmuff for like $50. Also there is 1/4" and I think 5/8" threads as well on the bottom. So you can use an old tripod as a mic stand or a maybe and existing monopod you have as an intermediate boompole.
