Rode VideoMic Pro: Quick fix for the flimsy rubber/cradle

Hey guys,
thought I should share this, it screwed up one of my shoots.
Rode dudes, if you read this, fire the guy who designed the videomic pro and the one who approved it to go into production!
Here is a quick fix to prevent the rubber thingies to come off the corners

thanks for the link Chadfish, I took a MTB innertube, you can get it for free at a local bike store, just ask for a defective one

Thanks Mike, but I have the InVision mount from Rycote, so that is what I use, but for on-camera mounting the rubber band a more elegant solution.

Question: Do you have to cut the MTB tube and glue it to make it small?

no glue, just cut out a 1/2 inch piece

Nice and simple fix, Mike. Nice blog too! I'll likely pop my head into a bicycle shop sometime soon. I'm tired of babysitting the shock mount on my VMP.
