RODE NTG2 on DVX100B (help!)

Hi,

I'm considering purchasing either the RODE NTG-1 or NTG-2, which brings me to my question.

If I go with the NTG-1, will that suck out a noticable amount of life from my DVX battery? Should I then, go with the NTG-2 to avoid that?

I'm just worried that the NTG-1 will slowly suck life out of the battery causing it to wear. The NTG-2 isn't very much more than the NTG-1 price wise, but I'm not made out of money. :embarasse

Any help / suggestions are highly appreciated!

You will bet less noise running from the phantom power on the camera. It will drain the battery slightly more, but so will having the LCD open. It is not enoght to worry about. I would definatly get an extra battery (big).

get the rode sm3 shockmount and dead cat too!
