Rode NTG-2 Stopped Working??

Had a very strange thing happen to me today... we were beginning production on our film and today we found out that our Rode NTG-2 mic stopped working. We can't seem to figure out the issue... the battery was changed, we checked all the cables, etc. We opened it up but we don't know what would cause it to stop working. It's simply not picking up any sound at all! Luckily my friend was nearby with a mic that we can use to proceed with our production.

Does anyone know what the first thing I can do to fix the mic? I can't really describe much other than that it stopped recording anything. Please help, thanks!

No luck on that either. Tried it with battery and also phantom power. Thanks!

You OPENED IT UP???? A mic's innards are not something the average electronic's tinkerer is able to repair - lots of teensy tinesy wires and surface mount components. First check it with a different cable - cables are much more likely to fail than is a microphone. If no joy, make sure the battery is good and inserted correctly. Testing with phantom make sure the phantom source is actually turned on. If all three of those check out ... good cable (new cable or a different mic works fine with the old one), battery good, and phantom good ... and the mic still doesn't work, it's time for it to take a trip back to Rode. Their warranty service is outstanding (if you didn't void it by opening the mic).
