Rode M3 on Boom

So last fall, I snagged an NTG-2 from B&H for $199 during the Rode $1 mic deal and got a free M3. The NTG has been working great, and so far i've only gotten to use the m3 to record a drum kit (that 20db pad works great!).

I was thinking about whether or not the M3 would be worth anything at all on a boom pole for dialauge indoors, but the shockmount I have right now doesn't fit it so I haven't had a chance to try. Obviously a dedicated hyper would be a thousand times better (looking at getting the AKG CK93 whenever I have some money), but right now the little condenser is just sitting in my drawer.

What do ya'll think?

Most definitely, I can't wait to have a nice pro boom. I used a homemade lightbulb changing pole on a friend's project recently (great audio, but lots of work)

I own the Rode M3 and used it for an indoor shoot and it sounded great. This was a sit down dialogue scene(tons of dialogue) and I had it attached to a c stand. I boomed with it for shorter scenes. I use the Rode SM3 shock mount with it and it works perfect. Great microphone.

that was my second question... will it fit in the SM3?

What kind of distance was the mic set at? Obviously as close as possible is the name of the game but i'm curious.
